Why Use Acrylic Photo Prints For Exhibit Photographs Instead

By David Fisher

There are so many ways that art has been appreciated over the centuries. Paintings, photographs, sculptures and so on. Back then, reproduction of these pieces were very tasking and more often than not, just not possible. Now we have the benefit of being able to digitally capture and create art pieces. Printing them become a matter of quality since many methods of printing are offered.

Good quality prints are not particularly hard to find if they were meant to be small scale ones. But for large pieces, getting somethings that can match the digital format may be a bit tricky. Acrylic photo prints are especially good at showing high definition images and are perfect for those that plan to print their high definition photographs.

The more popular option is actually canvas printing since it has been used for a long time now. What many have been picking up though, is using acrylic printing methods for their ability to make colors pop up. But many professionals know that the method to choose would depend on the photograph, since each has their own aesthetic attribute.

Knowing which one to choose it vital because the way the photograph is presented can do so much to the way it is seen. The process that makes up for acrylic prints involves the image being printed on a photo paper and being pressed between two sheets of acrylic. The back panel can either be white, black or transparent depending on what would be fit for the image.

Photos with a more contemporary concept, like a cityscape at night would look great in high definition. The reflective surface of this printing method does not absorb light and there for lets it look like the lights in the picture are actually shining. Canvas printing also has the benefit of making an image look more authentic, vintage and soft, compared to the high resolution one.

The whole contemporary and high definition nature of acrylic photos make it the best option for images used in professional and office settings. These prints can be set up using aluminum support or a frame. The aluminum support is subtle and does not disrupt the visual quality of the image. This makes is good for digital posters used in reception areas and other corporate venues.

The best benefit with acrylic, visually speaking, is how it can emphasize black better. The dots per inch that it covers is more than that of canvas making its gamut higher by one third. This is how this type of print is able to show more colors resulting to a more vibrant picture.

The downside is how this is the more expensive among all the available option. The price that you pay is well compensated for since these prints are also very durable. The coating makes the product waterproof and UV protected. Canvases are not by default with varnish and UV protection but a lacquer or substance can be added to achieve this, post print.

Cleaning and maintenance is also easier. All you need to get is a specialized product found in the market, usually also used for glass and other similar surfaces. These materials are also very affordable and easy to find. It just takes a few minutes to apply the substance and wipe it down.
